A vital source of Omega-3
Omega-3 fatty acids are vital to life and health, but they are not naturally produced within the body. These fatty acids contribute to the body’s normal functioning, and are necessary to the health of cell membranes throughout the body. Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to have a multitude of benefits, including:
• Reduction of risk of stroke
• Reduction of the risk of heart disease and hypertension
• Reduction of joint pain
• Support of neurological function
Omega-3 fatty acids are involved in the everyday support and regulation of the immune system, blood vessels, cell membranes, kidney function, nerve transmission and the prevention of blood clots, along with many other integral functions necessary for the body to operate properly. Omega-3 fatty acids also aid in controlling inflammation in tissues, joints and the bloodstream. In addition, Omega-3 fatty acids help to balance out the negative effects of Omega-6 fatty acids, which are also vital to our bodies but can cause problems if not properly balanced with Omega-3s.
